What is zone 3?
Growing zones are given a number from 1- 13. Each zone has different growing conditions and minimum temperatures which affect plant survival.
In the following Image from the Government of canada Zone 3 is indicated in green.
Often Growing information can be applied to adjacent zones, so the the tips we provide specifically for zone 3 could be tested in zones 2 and 4 as well. Growing zones apply globally, information can usually be found on local government, agricultural sites.

Plants that are hardy to other zones can be grown in zone 3 but should not be expected to survive outside through the winter. These are considered annual plants.
